Joseph Pattin has
been designing gardens since childhood and his passion continues
today. He has a natural ability to transform boring space
into exquisite places of tranquility and delight. Everyday
he studies the natural environment for aesthetic possibilities
and for new ideas. What inspires him the most is to design
a unique garden by working in collaboration with the client’s
ideas.
His first landscape company was based in Silicon Valley where he designed gardens
based on ecological principles and specialized in Herb Gardens, Japanese, English
Cottage and Edible Gardens.
Since relocating to the Sacramento Area from 8600 feet in elevation in the Colorado
Rockies, he has founded a new company named Garden Retreats which focuses on
creating sacred gardens for tranquility. His design themes include
California Natural, English Cottage, Japanese, Outdoor Kitchen Entertainment,
Koi Pond, Feng Shui, Spanish Courtyard, Edible Cottage and Drought-Deer Resistant
Gardens of the Sierra Foothills.
Joseph donates landscape
designs to Habitat for Humanity and WEAVE.
He lives in Rocklin where he consults and designs gardens in the greater Sacramento
area and from Reno, Nevada to Sebastopol.
MISSION:
The garden is where civilization (your home) and nature meet
in the embrace of an inspirational design. My mission
is to facilitate the collaboration between you and nature that
best
reflects your vision of function, beauty and quality in a custom
garden.
VISION:
To provide a living sanctuary that replenishes your mind, body
and spirit and heals our precious planet one yard at a time.
PROCESS:
Listening intently to your vision, needs and priorities and
listening to nature’s clues for harmony, beauty and balance and integrating
these elements into an inspirational design.
